OUR STORY
We’re Ann Marie and Kai Martin, college sweethearts turned old married couple (10 years and counting!), owners of Cedar and Spice, and parents to two little girls who are growing up in a world where disco balls are plentiful, donuts grow on walls and anything is possible.
We started Cedar and Spice in 2018 in our garage with a big dream and notebooks full of doodled brainstorms. After lots of paint color battles, “are you awake- I had a thought about that wall” conversations, 10 PM coffee pots, loading wood in and out of our minivan, huge purple mushrooms taking over our living room, big rose walls, hot glue blistered hands, donut measuring, glitter for days and turning to one another as we drive away from a project saying, “hey that was really cool.”...we are absolutely living that dream.
5+ years later and we feel so lucky to get to do what we love everyday. We now have a workshop (with a pink coffee pot, of course!) and have gotten to expand our production and design teams to include 7 of the hardest working, big hearted magic-makers we know!

OUR VALUES
-
KINDNESS AND COLLABORATION
Kind Hearts, Big Ideas, Hard Work, (Gummy Snacks & Full Coffee Pot). Can’t lose.
-
POSSIBILITY AND INNOVATION
Our favorite sentences start with “I had an idea, not sure if this is possible but…”
We love to dream bigger and push the envelope. -
EXPERTS IN LEARNING
We are typically in situations where we are creating something that there isn’t a road map or college degree for- We are committed to trial and error (and lots of Googling).
-
“YOU GOTTA PROBLEM, YO I’LL SOLVE IT”
Creative Problem Solving is our superpower.
-
LANDFILLS ARE CRAPPY, THINK SCRAPPY
One of the main tenets of our business is to be as sustainable and eco-conscious as possible. Meaning we harvest, reuse and recycle pieces when they come back to us to extend their life and reduce our carbon footprint.
